Southwest Bible College & Seminary was founded in 1995 by Dr. Ray McFarlain with the vision of making higher education affordable and accessible to those who are called in the ministry. After reciving accreditation the school was launched in Lake Charles, Louisiana. Soon the enrollment grew and the office was relocated to Jennings, Louisiana where it would remain until 2010.
After the retirement of Dr. Ray McFarlain in 2010, the board voted to name Dr. Robby Foster as the new president. Dr. Foster served as president and operated the administration office in Valdosta, Georgia.
In February 2016 Dr. Foster announced his retirement in order to devote himself to the many demands of his church and role in the Baptist Convention. At that time Dr. Brian McFarlain, the son of founder Dr. Ray McFarlain accepted a nomination as the new president of SBCS.
Today the vision of SBCS remains. It is our desire to continue to provide quality accredited education while making it accessible to all.
We are grateful to each and every one of our current student body and our alumni.
God Bless
Brian McFarlain
President
